A Night for Battlefleet Gothic

Last night was very cool- without a doubt a watershed moment for the Battlefleet Gothic hobby at Legio Malaysia.

To start with, I finished the first 1000 points of my Nurgle-devoted Chaos fleet. The flagship is a Repulsive class grand cruiser "Bringer of Despair", accompanied by one Murder class cruiser, two Slaughter class cruisers, and the Devastation class cruiser "Malevolent", pictured above. I even painted up fighters, bombers, and super sexy ForgeWorld Dreadclaw assault pods. They look great!

Khiarul and Azlan have also finished their starter fleets, both Imperial and both looking great. They both also painted up fighters and bombers, which look great on the table. That brings me to the last and coolest thing about last night- the table.

What you see above is a trial run, done by our own Soo Jin. He took a 9" x 12" piece of clear acrylic and painted the celestial phenomenon "in reverse" on the underside of the acrylic, and then painted black over it. You then flip it over, and POOF!, you're looking through clear acrylic to see the stunning starscape underneath. So with the successful test done, that my fleet above is cruising on, Soo Jin spent the rest of the night doing the same thing to a full sized 6' x 4' table.

I'll paint the black background on the table this week, and next hobby night I'll take some pics so you can see what is probably one of the best Battlefleet Gothic tables you will see ANYWHERE. I can't wait :)

Nice dropclaw. I'm sure they'll hurt once they attach to my vessels.

i suck at list building... actually i pretty much suck at gaming. :(

can i play a imperial fleet with grey knights or mechanicus? saw some cruisers from forgeworld... friggin awesome. but so are you dread claws. also friggin awesome... so torn... so confused... :(

  12. @Jinn- GW has a Mechanicum fleet available, which I'm definitely considering for my second fleet. You could also do GK with the ForgeWorld cruisers and T-hawks. Minor conversion work on the prow of a standard battle barge could give you a sweet one for GK for sure.

You've got some good options out there... :)
