Well, after trying a few Tau schemes and not finding one I liked AND could be painted fairly fast, I've decided to make part of my overall Avenging Sons project my choice for the upcoming Iron Painter. Here's the list I'm currently thinking of:
Chaplain in Terminator Armor
8x Assault Terminators
2 squads of 10x Tactical Marines
Stormtalon Gunship
That's 30 models on the nose (the minimum for Iron Painter) and is itself a legal list, again as Iron Painter stipulates. In the meantime, I'm going to paint the remainder of the army so that when Iron Painter is done, I'll have a 1750 point army fully painted and ready for the table.
As always thanks for checking it out- coming up next will either be a small Scout squad or a Land Raider Redeemer...
I love it!!!
ReplyDeleteSomehow I didn't interpret their color scheme as being baby blue. I would have gone more steely like The Fang/Shadow Grey. Its so hard to tell from the Taros book. It looks like a slightly lighter dustier Ultramarines Blue, like the 90's Citadel colors Festering Blue and Hideous Blue which I still own and use because they never made blues like them again.
ReplyDeleteRegardless, it looks good.
I agree that my color choice is slightly off from the Taros scheme, for the same reasons you mentioned. I went with this primarily because of the "pop" factor and it was a color I didn't have to mix (and therefore harder to duplicate in the future). It works, methinks :)
DeleteThanks for popping by
Honestly, I dont really like that blue. But the Dread do looks nice with Plasma light source and all.
ReplyDeleteHow you are going to finish 30 models in that colour scheme, within 24 hours is beyond me. Though I'm sure you're gonna make it somehow.
I like it. It's a really refreshing look for SM. Don't see that around much - usually more for Eldar I guess. The dread itself is very nicely done!
ReplyDeleteI really like it, that's a cool looking dread
ReplyDeleteThanks for the constructive comments guys- most appreciated! Next vehicle coming up will be a Land Raider Redeemer. Working on some Assault Marines now :)
