Decent Progress Thus Far

Sorry no fig photo today folks- completely spaced it.

The Chaplain is coming along nicely after some Hobby Night and weekend painting time devoted to it. All the bone is done, and all of the parchment has been highlighted up from the basecoat. All that remains is to scrawl the thin lines of black for writing.

I've also assembled 1st Squad's sergeant- I'll post a pic of him soon.

In other news, I'm very excited about the upcoming Iron Painter. I'm torn as to which army to start at this event. Iyanden Eldar, Necrons, and Raptor Space Marines are the current front runners. FYI I will definitely be going for the Iron Skull as well (1000 points of models instead of 500). What do you guys think? Suggestions?

Dice Are Finally Here!

The order from Chessex showed up with some dice I've had on order, including the last two sets for Rizal and Ivan. Hopefully these dice will treat me well, and honor the minis I'm going to be painting over the next couple of months or so. We shall see.

Last night I didn't get a whole lot done- some assembly work and organization for Hobby Night tonight. I'm planning on painting Chaplain Kilrus, hopefully to completion. If by some strange hobby fortune I finish him with time to spare, I'm going to begin assembling my first Venerable Death Company Furioso Dreadnought, Brother Guljor.

Progress Every Day

Howdy, fellow hobby nutters.

After preaching the idea of "constant progress" to all the naysayers that bleat "I can't finish an army!", I've decided to put my money where my mouth is and make a hobby pledge with my Flesh Tearers project.

No matter what, I will get at least some progress on my Flesh Tearers done every day, without exception until the initial 1750 list is complete. It's a tall order, as there are always days where I'm tired, busy, or otherwise occupied. However, I'm going to make this hobby oath and do everything I can to fulfill it.

Last night is an example of "some progress" on the army, as I merely painted the head of the crozius arcanum Scorched Brown (my favorite undercoat for gold these days). That's it. Not a lot, I know, I expect more of myself as time goes on and I get into a groove, but it is SOME progress.

How about you guys? Anyone up for joining me in this hobby oath, and finally getting that current pesky army project done? Or, perhaps a new one...?

Progress on Chaplain Kilrus

Well, I didn't get a whole lot done last night, but at least it's progress. I did a very light drybrush with Codex Grey over the whole model to pop up the detail and highlight the black power armor. I overbrushed a Vallejo Oily Steel basecoat over all the chains and the muzzle of the plasma pistol. Finally, I painted a Khemri Brown basecoat over all of the purity seals/oath papers festooned over this detail-rich model. We'll see what I can get done this evening after work...
